Optional Modules
Optional Modules
Section titled “Optional Modules”KoAkademy ships six source-tree modules that extend the platform for institutions that need them. Standalone Composer modules can add further domains without copying source into the core repository. Modules are enabled or disabled per installation by your system administrator; some areas additionally depend on feature toggles in General Settings. If your school does not use a module, its pages and menus are hidden entirely.
Announcements
Section titled “Announcements”School-wide announcements targeted at staff, faculty, or students.
- Administrators create, schedule, and publish announcements from the administration panel.
- Active announcements appear as a banner in the administration panel and on the student portal dashboard and announcements page.
The standalone Forms module supports configurable surveys, evaluations, student information updates, and other school workflows.
- Forms can require an authenticated account, identify a guest by e-mail or student ID, or accept anonymous responses.
- Administrators can define text, choice, date, rating, upload, and other field types, response policies, close dates, and review workflows.
- Responses can remain linked to the submitting user and can be mapped to approved KoAkademy student fields before an administrator applies changes.
Forms must be installed in the application image with Composer before it can be enabled. See Module Registry for the installation and deployment sequence.
Cashier
Section titled “Cashier”A dedicated workspace for cashier staff, separate from the full finance administration area.
- Student lookup with Current Balance, History, and Transactions tabs.
- Payment posting against outstanding assessments.
- Works together with statements of account and the enrollment payment-verification step.
Inventory
Section titled “Inventory”Property and equipment management for the school.
- Catalog of products, categories, and suppliers.
- Stock movements and amendments with a full inventory ledger.
- Borrowings — track equipment lent to staff or students and its return status.
Library System
Section titled “Library System”Library operations for school librarians.
- Books, authors, and categories catalog management.
- Borrow records — check books in and out and track overdue items.
- Research papers repository for the institution’s archive.
Notification Center
Section titled “Notification Center”Template-based messaging to keep the school community informed.
- Prebuilt templates for common situations: enrollment updates, grade releases, payment notices, class suspensions, holidays, school events, reminders, warnings, and official announcements.
- Bulk sending to selected audiences, processed in the background.
- Delivered to the recipient’s portal Notification Center and by e-mail where configured.
Student Medical Records
Section titled “Student Medical Records”Clinic visit records managed by authorized medical staff.
- Visit records with type, status, and priority, plus follow-up scheduling.
- Confidentiality flags restrict sensitive records to authorized personnel.
- A dashboard widget summarizes clinic activity.
Enabling or disabling a module
Section titled “Enabling or disabling a module”Open Administrators → Marketplace to enable or disable an installed module. The Marketplace also reports the signed registry catalog and compatibility status, but it does not install Composer packages or update a running container. A standalone module must be added to the application, included in a new image, and migrated before it can be enabled.
Existing module status choices are preserved during upgrades. The six bundled modules ship enabled for backward-compatible installations; a newly installed standalone module may appear disabled until a super administrator enables it. Some areas additionally depend on feature toggles in General Settings — for example the inventory and library modules, the student portal, online enrollment, clearances, signature capture, and QR codes.
